Between a wedding, a family vacation, buying a house, moving, and everything that came with that, 2025 was anything but dull. It was exciting, and stressful, and scary, and exhausting, and blissful, but never, EVER dull.
I never want to have a year that exciting again.
We are so happy where we have landed – we love the house, the kids are doing great at their new school, and everyone is enjoying the natural beauty of the area and all the potential for adventures. But one thing 2025 didn’t give us was the chance to slow down and really experience it – there was this constant “getting ready for” the next thing coming. Unavoidable, since there is no pause button on life while we sort out the big stuff.
Towards the end of the year we realized now all that big stuff is done, we really just want to coast for awhile – no big plans, no big trips, no huge projects. I looked at Joseph and asked “Can we just be boring next year?” He agreed it was sorely needed, for all of us. The pieces are in place, but it’s time to fill in the details, refine the edges, and enjoy what we have created here. No big changes, just finding our place in the community, doing lots of exploring, and fine-tuning the day to day.
Here’s to hoping 2026 is boring AF.
