Random Thoughts on the Move to Anniston

Random thoughts about the move to Anniston…

🌳 It’s beautiful up here. I know those that are used to it probably take it for granted, but the coast was so flat everyone in the car is in awe at the beauty of the hills and forests here. The kids haven’t even seen the waterfall down the road yet, and we haven’t had the chance to do any kind of real exploring.

💙 This has been harder than we expected, on so many levels – physically, emotionally, mentally. The good parts outweigh the hard parts for sure, but we didn’t expect the hard parts to be as hard as they are. There have been some tears, and a lot of Motrin (and cold meds, omg) involved with this move. We are as always tackling it together, and we were lucky to get to spend some time with family this weekend, and are super looking forward to our next trip down in a couple of weeks to see my big kids 💜. (Side note, cats are very sensitive to stress, and ours have been remarkably expressive about this. 🤦‍♀️)

📦 The delivery people probably have our address memorized by now. Walmart groceries, UPS, Fedex, USPS pretty sure we see them all daily 😂 I kind of look forward to seeing less of them.

🦌 We joke with all the wildlife we have moved into a Disney movie. I’m starting to lose track, but notably there are deer that come into our yard regularly, Joseph saw a coyote nearby, we’ve seen three species of hummingbird, several woodpeckers, a hawk, bats almost nightly, and there was recently a rabbit spotted in the back. If we are in a Disney movie, could they learn to help with the dishes maybe?

Overall we are tired but happy, making solid progress on getting the house put together, and just really looking forward to things settling down and going back to ‘normal’. Which we are sure is going to happen soon. Hopefully. 🤞
